End of Teen Hungama

Teen HungamaYes its true, Teen Hungama is no more. After giving it a very long hard thought I have finally decided to close it down.

Over the last one year with Teen Hungama, I made quite a few friends, learnt a lot of things and had a great time. At one time we had some great activity, and was dedicating most of my time and effort behind it. But slowly the activity started decreasing and in recent months it has come to a complete standstill. I did try to revive it quite a few times, but I found it was too late. Also I lost heart in it and was not dedicating it the time and effort I did, just a year back.

So with no interest left in it, (and no active members) I find no point continuing with it anymore. From now on I have decided to put all my efforts in this blog.

I hope all of you agree with my decisions.

PS: From now on entering the Teen Hungama url (www.teenhungama.uni.cc) will bring you to this blog (www.muchhala.in)

Prince Rescued. What big deal!!!

Prince RescueThe 6 year old boy “Prince” who was trapped in a 53 feet deep 1.5 feet wide shaft and was rescued after a two days of ordeal, by the India Army. A great rescue accomplished, and a salute to everyone involved in the rescue mission.

After all this I have one little problem, and it has nothing to do with the approach taken in the rescue effort. My problem is with The Great Indian 24×7 News Channels and especially the ones that fall in the Hindi News category and the one channel that stands out in the whole episode is Star News. It’s the approach taken by the media that bothed me.

BAN GOOGLE!!!

July 7 2006, was one of the blackest day in the history Mumbai City and for the whole Nation. But we all stood together, and didn’t let the terrorists get away with their evil plans. On this fate full day everything seemed to fail except the Spirit of Mumbaikars and the bloggers.

The Spirit of Mumbai has been well publicized now (or over exaggerated to a certain extent). The other significant contributors were the blogs, that kept people notified when all our telephone lines literally went dead.

So what does our government do? BLOCK them out, because they are a threat to our national security. The reason being that these blogs are being used to spread anti-national stuff and also the terrorist are using blogs to communicate with each other.

So what am I supposed to do now? Well just use any proxy site (e.g. PKBlogs for Blogspot) and you are back in business. You might not see the images but rest of the important stuff will be there. And I bet these are on their way to bans too.

OR an alternative is to use Google’s cache feature. You only don’t see images from that site, but rest all is there. (e.g. The older version of Muchhala’s World {Google’s Cache}). So that even makes Google bad. Its showing me stuff that the government doesn’t want me to see. And also with Google I can find all other anti-national stuff, porn and other stuff that will spoil our generation. So Google is the biggest EVIL!!!

Ubuntu 6.06 CDs Received

Ubuntu 6.06 LTS I got my Ubuntu CDs yesterday deliverd to my door step a month after I had ordered them, and touch wood without any trouble. Although I must salute the postman who delivered these to me in the worst rainfall of the year.

As soon as yoou open the packet you notice that now we dont have 2 seperate CDs (One Live and One Install) but they are now one. You just have to boot up the live cd and then install it from there. The installation was a breeze.

The other good thing is its usability and ease of use. The manuall installation (non synaptic installation) is now so so simple that you will never have to touch the terminal for such trivial stuff. The other thing worth mentioning is the UI. Not a big leap but well and truly now at par with XP and in some cases better than XP.

The end result has been that I am now going to shift to full time to Ubuntu and just leave my Windows XP partition to Login to my ISP and play Games (Remeber I got more RAM, so now I can play games)

Now I am waiting for my Kubuntu CDs which I had ordered a week after I had ordered the Ubuntu CDs. Just hope the guys at the customs department dont mess up again.

Here’s the details to get your copy.

Update: I have received my kubuntu and edubuntu cds. The only thing this time around other than a larger packet was that the packet was almost open and there were no ubuntu stickers that came with the ubuntu cds earlier. So at the end the customs did steal my stickers.
